Race report by Troy Brosnan
Round 3 of the Inside Line State series was held at Mt Torrens last weekend. Mt Torrens is a track that Steve Marsh helped to build a few years ago.
This season I had decided to race Elite and as I punctured in the first round and the second round had been postponed I was really keen to have a good weekend.
Practise on the Saturday was good, I was pretty relaxed and as it is a push up track I managed to get in lots of sectioning and a couple of full runs.
Race day the weather was pretty cold but it did not look like any rain so it was going to be a good day. I had a sick qualifying run pinning it, but I did not go flat out and came in with a time of 1.33.14 which qualified me second behind Dave West who did a 1.32.62.
Before my race run I just tried to rest my legs and keep as warm as possible, sat around with a few of the other Elite riders and relaxed. We probably all relaxed a little too much and where nearly all late for our race runs.
Now to my race run, the track was getting blown out and very dusty, I got the snap out of the gate and was away I felt great through my whole race run not making hardly any mistakes and managed to keep it clean pedalling hard across the finish line.
Will Gower who qualified 3rd had done a time of 1.32.27 which was really quick and going to be hard to beat, I came over the line in a 1.31.24 which I could not believe. Dave was the last down the track and it was hard to watch as I knew how good of a rider Dave is, Dave came out of the trees and was right on the money for the win. Dave crossed the finish line with a time of 1.32.64 which meant that I was placed first in Elite men, with Will second and Dave third. I couldn’t have been happier.
The new Boot’r is such a sick bike and with the new Boxxers it rides so good.
Big thanks goes to Mongoose, Fox, Adidas, Maxxis, SRAM/Rockshox, Pimp Juice, Results Electrical, Lotek, Trak cycles and Crankbrothers (thanks for the new Pedals).
Cheers
