Its that time of year again, national series. The first round was in Adelaide at the same location as last year. Having sufficient course knowledge from last years race the decision was made to travel down on Friday morning instead of Thursday. Cutting three laps of the awesome track was enough for Friday practice and I felt great on the course so it was back to the accommodation, which was great, organised by Shaun.
Having a bit of a sleep in Saturday morning was good then after a pre-ride through the busy streets of Adelaide we headed out to the course mid morning for a race start of 3:30pm for the U/19 men. After watching some inspiring performances by fellow Mongoose team members Rebecca and Ben Henderson both getting second I was keen to get out on the track.
It was start time and we got our transponders, which are a great idea. Being ranked first coming into the event I was called to the line first and therefore getting prime starting position. I led from the start and rode within myself the whole race and tried to be as consistent as I could. This gave me the win and I was very pleased all those hours of training had paid off!
