Inside Line State Series Mt Torrens - Race report by Troy Brosnan
 15/09/2008

The final round of the Inside Line State Series for 2008 was on the 13th and 14th of September.

The race was held at Mt Torrens which is one of my favourite tracks as it is owned by Darren Moore who rides a Mongoose and Steve Marsh has helped to build the track.

Saturday morning started of great as the weather looked good, but it soon turned bad as we could not get the car started and then managed to get it wedged up against a tree while we were trying to push-start it. A bit of a long story but basically we had to cut part of the tree down to get the car out!

The day did get better once we were at the track as the track was dry and fast just how I like it. Can't remember how many push up runs I did on Saturday, but must of been a few as I actually went to bed early Saturday night because I was so tired.

Sunday did not start great, as the car would not start again, but we managed to push start it this time without any dramas.

The weather was not so good as it had been raining most of the night and showers kept coming in during practice.
Did a few practice runs but as I was doing 3 classes (I gave 3XC a go on my new Cannan XC bike) I did not do to many practice runs.

First up qualifying for under 19, had a pretty good run really went for it in the top section and backed it of down the bottom to try to save something for my next run. I managed to qualify fastest for the under 19 final in a 1.29.

Under 17 race run, gave this everything I had as my goal was to make a clean sweep of winning every race this season, managed to come away with the win which was great in a time of 1.28.

Thought I would give 3XC a crack on my new Cannan, man was it fun the bike handled so good and the time was not to bad either came down in a 1.31, taking out the win.

My final run of the day was the final of the under 19 did not think I would have much left but was having so much fun I was going to give it my best shot.

The top section is pretty technical with lots of corners just gave it everything I had, I managed to smash my hand on a stake near the bottom of the track which I think made me push even harder could not believe my time it was the quickest for me out of all my rounds coming down in a 1.27.86 , I came away with the quickest time for under 19s.

The only group left to come down was the Elite men, unbelievably with my time I would of finished 2nd in Elite men to Will Reischbeth who came down in a time of 1.27.33 man I can not believe I am so close to Will.

Next race I am going to Eildon in Victoria will be great to do a different track.

Thanks heaps to all the Gravity team sponsors and a huge thanks to Mongoose as I believe I am riding so well at the moment because the bike is so good.

Thank's also to Trak cycles for looking after me so well and Results Electrical for helping me to get to the National rounds this year.

Cheers TB
